Chemicals for Boilers, Cooling Systems,
and Water Treatment Facilities
Boiler Water Treatment
Corrosion, scale, and deposits are the enemy of any boiler system. They cause piping and mechanical failures and increase fuel consumption by decreasing heat transfer efficiency. Solving boiler, process steam, and condensate system problems requires a total systems approach to the water treatment program. Your water treatment professional has the knowledge and expertise to understand the most complex systems and to apply the appropriate treatment program.
Cooling Water Treatment
The challenge of controlling corrosion, deposition, and microbiological activity in critical HVAC and process cooling water systems is compounded by environmental constraints. Cost-effective control is available through the application of modern generation molybdate- and phosphonate-based formulations and state-of-the-art all-organic inhibitor technology.
Legionella Management
“Requiring registration and up to date maintenance plans allows for more aggressive monitoring of cooling towers, hospitals and residential health care facilities” as per Commissioner of Health, Dr. Howard Zucker. Buffalo Industrial Chemicals’ service technicians are fully trained, licensed, and certified in all aspects of the NYS DOH Protection Against Legionella mandate. BIC will provide quarterly cooling tower inspections, documentation of cleanings and scheduled maintenance, disinfection, 90-day Legionella testing, bacteria dip slide testing, and annual certification, as well as help with the required Cooling Tower Maintenance Programs (CTMPP) based on ASHRAE Standard 188-2015. These new regulations affect every cooling tower owner and all domestic water systems in covered facilities such as general hospitals and residential healthcare facilities in the state.
Process Water Treatment
Our utility and process water treatment programs are designed to conserve water while meeting plant effluent requirements or providing recycle opportunities. We offer a wide range of coagulants, polymers, flocculants, and other waste treatment specialties to meet the growing needs of industrial water users.
